Saturday 6th February 2010, saw us taking two young people, from "Fuse 1318" Theatre Workshop, to Lancaster in order to start the ball rolling on the "New Cultural Journeys" project.
Here we met up with other "young producers" from around Lancashire and began the decision making process about what art forms and artists that we would like to work with. There was a lot of choice, ranging from high tech, digital art to the totally weird and whacky - resulting in a lot of information for the young people to take in. They did, however, take the whole process very seriously and some lively discussions ensued.
We are really looking forward to working with our chosen artists and can't wait for summer.

A New Cultural Journey
Happy New Year - even though it is almost February.
Finding the time to blog, has been nigh on impossible this month - between tax returns and new ventures our time has been somewhat occupied.
Our involvement with and enthusiasm for, Enterprising Pendle continues. It is great to work with so many other people, from all walks of life and with a broad spectrum of skills who hold the interests of Pendle people and businesses to heart.
We have also had the honour of having our older Youth Theatre "Fuse 1318" chosen to be part of the North West wide "New Cultural Journeys" project. New Cultural Journeys is part of the Cultural Olympiad leading up to London 2012 and the young people will be involved in creating new artworks as a part of this.
We have also been busy organising a song / music writing workshop for young people and their families. The really exciting thing about this is, that they do not have to have any previous experience at all but, through teamwork, will have created a song or piece of music by the end of the session AND they will receive a CD of their work to keep.
Tax returns have kept us incredibly busy too. We couldn't believe it when we had to pay £35 to download the software just to file one form, as the Inland Revenue online service don't have that form. Sounds like a huge money making game to us. Still, one thing is for sure - we'll be doing paper returns next year!!!
